Recently we hosted Under-18 club level basketball tournament named as Hi5 Parivaar Basketball Cup 2026 (both for boys and girls) at our Parivaar Bengal Campus for the first time where one of our girls’ teams became champions and one of the boys’ teams became runner up.
Prestigious club teams from all over Bengal have participated from 2nd April – 5th April 2026 in this tournament. Some of the clubs are established since more than 100 years.
10 teams of boys and 9 teams of girls participated from all over Bengal along with 2 boys and 2 girls teams from Parivaar.

Names of the Girls Teams : PARIVAAR A, MEDINIPUR, PARIVAAR B, POLICE A.C., 1923 CHHATRA SAMITY, BURDWAN DISTRICT, HOOGHLY DISTRICT, EASTERN RAILWAY, RAKHI SANGHA, BASKETBALL BOOMERS, BARISHA A.C.
The tournament was played in a league and knock out format where among the girls the Parivaar A team won all their league and knock out matches enroute to the final where they won against the eminent Eastern Railway team in a very tight and evenly contested match. Scores were Parivaar A – 44 to Eastern Railway – 35.

1st Runners Up – Eastern Railway
2nd Runner Up – Police AC
Most Promising Player – Athiyana Shaikh (Police AC)
Most Valuable Player – Baisakhi Mardi (Parivaar A)
Best Defender – Sumatree Saha (Eastern Railway)
Similarly among the boys, Parivaar A team consistently won all their league and knock out matches enroute to the final where they faced Burdwan. Burdwan is one of the strongest team in the Bengal basketball circuit in all categories. The final was a treat to watch where both teams were neck to neck till the final moments but it was Burdwan who went on to win the championship. Scores were Burdwan – 81 to Parivaar A – 76

We also arranged the accommodation for 3 boys teams (Burdwan District, Hooghly District and 1923 Chhatra Samity) and 3 girls teams (Burdwan District, Hooghly District and Medinipur) at our Bengal campus.
It is worthy if mention that quite a few of Parivaar boys and girls have represented West Bengal teams in different age-groups and travelled to various parts of the country.
We plan to host such tournaments with greater regularity in future.
