Milestone of 15 Lac patients reached through our Mobile Medical Clinics (MMCs)
You would be happy to know that we have crossed the milestone of 15 Lac patients. The first MMC was started on 14th June ’21 in Sheopur. We have 21 MMCs in 8 districts of Madhya Pradesh at present serving 982 villages in interior tribal areas.
Our experience of working in remote and poor tribal villages in Madhya Pradesh has highlighted the dismal conditions of people suffering with various diseases or disabilities. Due to poverty, lack of access to good hospitals and doctors, they suffer from the illness without getting proper treatment. Many of these illnesses are of chronic nature too. Therefore, we decided to launch mobile clinic service to serve such villages.
We employ a qualified doctor who visits 4-5 villages daily and examines around 100-150 patients. Free medicines are also provided to the patients. Those patients who are referred to Block or District Level Hospitals, because of serious illness, are also taken to these hospitals for treatment. Quite a few are also taken to higher centres for treatment like AIIMS Delhi, Jaipur, Nagpur, Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore etc.
In a fortnightly cycle, at present, we are serving 982 tribal villages in 8 districts through 21 such The per person cost to us comes about Rs 52, which includes fuel cost, manpower costs, medical consultation and medicines.
