15 Parivaar children get admission into prestigious Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNVs) in Grade 6.

This achievement, in our opinion, is considerably striking, given the fact that a couple of years back most of these children were hardly having academic competence of a beginner, say that of a Grade 1 student.
Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) are residential and Co-Ed schools run under the HRD Ministry of Government of India. These schools provide education to the children from lower income groups chiefly from rural and small-town areas, and the examination is fairly competitive with a selection to application ratio of 1:50. About 4 thousand candidates compete for 80 seats at Grade 6 level in a JNV.
There is one JNV in district and that caters to students from class VI to XII. At present there are 661 JNVs in the country with about 2,.87 Lac students enrolled.
These are institutions of high academic excellence, something borne out by the fact that in the year 2022, there were more than a thousand students from JNV in the first list of JEE Advanced.
The Central government’s annual expenditure per student was Rs. 85,000 per student in JNVs in 2015-16 and in all likelihood it is much higher than Rs 1 Lac per student at present.
A good number of Parivaar children are also getting admission in Eklavya schools too which are for children from tribal communities and have been established on lines of JNVs.
We are sure of a bright future of these children.
